Biography

1968
Born in Ljubljana.
1982–1986
Attended the Secondary School for Design and Photography in Ljubljana.
1987–1991
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, specifically painting with Janez Bernik.
1989
Was granted a scholarship for gifted students by the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Affairs.
Received the Prešeren award for artistic achievements in painting, awarded by the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.
1991
Received the Prešeren award for his painting Column (canvas, acrylic-bronze, 200 x 300 cm), awarded by the University of Ljubljana.
Graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana under Janez Bernik. Wrote a theoretical paper titled The Sign under the mentorship of Jožef Muhovič.
1991–1993
Received an award for postgraduate studies from the Academy of Norway for his master’s studies with Janez Bernik.
Became a member of the Fine Arts Society of Slovenia.

1993
Was granted the occupational title of painter by the Ministry of Culture.
Studied in Düsseldorf and Utrecht.
1994-1997
Became teaching assistant for drawing and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.
1995
Achieved master rank in traditional karate.
1997
Earned master’s degree with his thesis The Power of a Drawing under the mentorship of Bojan Gorenc. Wrote a theoretical paper titled About the Samurai, about Painting under the mentorship of Maja Milčinski.

1998–1999
Worked as an independent artist and held an evening art course at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.
1999–2009
Taught drawing and painting at the Secondary School for Design and Photography in Ljubljana.
1999–2000
Led an evening art school at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.

2001
Earned his Master of Arts. Taught at the Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts in Ljubljana.
2002
Successfully completed the professional teaching program at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana.
2004
Passed professional exam for the title of professional in teaching and education, awarded by the Ministry of Education.
2007
Co-founded the culture and arts society Mikado.
2008
Became a member of the Fine Arts Society of Ljubljana.
2009
Received a permanent title of councilor by the Ministry of Education.
Started working full-time at teacher at the Secondary School of Design and Photography in Ljubljana.
2018
Presentation of the concept and the results of drawing instruction with scribbling at a meeting of art pedagogues at SŠOF in Ljubljana.
2019
He leads a drawing course for beginners (presents basic drawing skills) at the National Gallery in Ljubljana (February 2019).
He leads a drawing course for sequels (presenting the basic laws of shading) at the National Gallery in Ljubljana (May 2019).
